Hollands Venetië is a restaurant and boat tour company on the Beulakerweg, on the edge of Giethoorn and in Weerribben-Wieden National Park. You can have lunch and dinner here, hire an electric sloop (electric boat), sail with a skipper or do a package with a group.
According to the company itself, Hollands Venetië began over 80 years ago as a small café and hotel. It is now a restaurant with a classic French interior, several halls and covered terraces with a view of the water and the Weerribben-Wieden nature reserve. Besides the restaurant, Hollands Venetië has its own fleet: electric sloops to sail yourself, tour boats and sloops with a skipper.
At Hollands Venetië you can go out for a meal, eat pancakes, have a snack and a drink on the terrace, hire a sloop, take a boat tour, sail with a skipper, hire an e-chopper, fatbike or kick bike, get married, hold a meeting and do a package with a group.
You book sloops, boat trips with a skipper, the two-wheelers and the packages online on the Hollands Venetië booking page. You reserve a table in the restaurant by phone.

When you hire a sloop you can reserve one or more picnic baskets to take on board. For groups the restaurant also has packed lunches.
If you do not want to steer yourself, you sail with a Hollands Venetië skipper. You can choose a boat tour through the canals and the centre of Giethoorn, or a trip across the outer waters and through the Weerribben-Wieden nature reserve. The skippers tell you about the village and its history along the way. Boat tours for groups are available from 10 people.
For your own party there are private boats and sloops with a skipper. If you have a special request or want to see a particular place, you can discuss it with the skipper. Hollands Venetië will also put together a tailor-made trip in consultation with you.

The Riva hall is also the restaurant and has its own terrace with a view of Weerribben-Wieden. If your party is larger, the sliding doors to the Gondola hall can be opened. This lets you, for example, first dine in a small circle and then hold a reception with more guests.

Hollands Venetië organises weddings and wedding receptions. You can get married following Giethoorn tradition: the bridal couple sails in front in the bridal punter, the parents follow in the following punter and the other guests sail along in a tour boat. Traditionally the oldest bachelor punts the bridal punter. If he cannot, there is an introductory package to learn punting, or Hollands Venetië punts the boat itself.
You hire a hall for part of a day, a whole day or several days. All the halls have a flip chart, projector, whiteboard, wireless internet and writing materials. The lunch can be simple or extensive. For groups there is a meeting package.
For groups there are buffets and barbecues, including vegetarian options. Get in touch to see together what suits your party.
Besides boating, at Hollands Venetië you can explore the surroundings on land. The e-choppers are electric scooters with wide tyres that make almost no noise. After an explanation you ride a trip of about 35 kilometres through Giethoorn and Weerribben-Wieden, with a digital route or map. For the e-chopper you need a valid driving licence or moped certificate and a helmet, which is included in the hire.
On an electric fatbike you cycle a route of about 25 kilometres along lakes, farmland and woods; if you hire it for a whole day, you can go further. The fatbike is suitable from 12 years old or from a height of 150 centimetres. The kick bike is a large scooter, for people from 140 centimetres, with a route map.
Hollands Venetië combines boating, activities and food in packages for small and large parties, such as team outings, stag and hen parties, and family or company outings.
