Restaurant 141
honest food and boating yourself on the village canal

Restaurant 141 is in a listed farmhouse on the Binnenpad, in the middle of the village canal of Giethoorn. Robert and Esther cook with local produce and flavours from all over the world, and from the restaurant’s own jetty you rent a quiet sloop (electric boat) or other electric boat.

Eating on the village canal

The kitchen at Restaurant 141 is small and the menu is easy to follow. The cooking is multicultural: produce from the region, combined with flavours from elsewhere, and the dishes change with what is available fresh. Almost everything is made in-house, as sustainably as possible and with local suppliers where it can be. The restaurant cannot be reached by car, only on foot over the little bridges or by water. That gives you a quiet spot by the canal.
